So I'm watching HalloweeN II...

So I was watching HalloweeN II tonight and during the flick there is a scene with a mother and son arriving at the hospital ER. They get out of the car and the boy is holding a towel up to his bloody mouth. I've scene this movie at least a dozen times and I never really thought too much about this scene. I always just figured he fell and and busted-up his mouth, maybe broke a tooth or two, but this time I see what is really wrong. His mom asks him to lower the towel to take a look and there is a friggin razor blade stuck in his mouth! I did one of those 'WTF double takes' and scanned back to see if that was in fact what I saw and sure enough when I paused it there was the blade sticking out of his mouth....

What's funny about that is in the history of American trick or treating, only a few children have ever been poisoned, given a razor blade, or died due to something in their candy . .. and it's always been done by a family member, not a stranger

Yeah I have always heard that. It just struck me as funny. It was such a throw away scene but was cool that they paid homage to that urban legend which people still believe these days....

That scene has nothing to do with the movie but it's always stuck in my head

Rumor has it that Michael did it

Really? That adds even more to the story then. I always just thought the kid got hit in the mouth for whatever reason, just never struck me as being from a razor blade....

I have read this in the Chaos Comic "HalloweeN #1". Good luck finding a copy of that. I sold my Limited Chromuim covered Comic on feebay and got $65.00 out of it... They are Very hard to come by... But in there, it showed this small kid at a HalloweeN party and he was Bobbing for apples and got a Razor blade to the mouth... Could this be a conspiracy to the films??? Or is this just a Coquincidence????

Good research... I knew about the razor blade... I thought everyone knew that... lol... Guess not...

Definatly takes a good eye to see it though! Kool stuff J!!! --Ryan

Kind of makes no sense eh? There is a milar scene in the novelization of H1 in which the young Michael tries to drown another kid bobbing for apples in the asylums' Halloween party

its a razor blade, they put that in the movie to capitalize on the fears that ck fucks were doing that to apples (which is an urban legend) and to add a little more gore in the movie.

Makes my mouth hurt just looking at it.

I remember being a kid, and my parents making me go through each piece of candy to be sure it wasn't tampered with... no drugs or razors...

Halloween has changed so much nce the good ol days. In a way its better but then again it takes away some of the more spooky or darker urban lore of Halloween. In the late 70's and through the 80's when you went outde the day after Halloween it looked like a war was fought. Eggs smashed everywhere; trees and homes toilet papered; shaving cream and fake blood everywhere....and yeah mom making you go through your candy to make sure there was no poison or razors.

Nowadays everything is so sterilized and planned. I have two little kids and want them to be safe and have fun but halloween is also about being a little mischievous. Think back...noone ever really got hurt. it was just fun to talk about almost being egged when you went to school the next day. Anyway not to stray too much but yeah KILLER scene!!!!
