MOST ACCURATE MYERS MASK......EVER?

I just saw this. The mask below is apparently a re-tooled H78 mask by Nikolas Art Gallery (NAG) owned by GoBears04 over at MM.net. He posted these pictures below and I can honestly say I am downright amazed. Has the runner crossed the finish line? Is this the quote "perfect" H1 Myers mask? Am I off base here?

Wow...just might be. That comparison pic looked dead on

I never feel safe saying we have a winner, especially with Nik constantly putting out amazing masks like so. But J's pics absolutely floored me. I've always wanted an H78 but never really got serious with it. Now I think I need one. Although take into account J usualyl adds his own little touch to his masks and he takes pretty damn great pics (not saying the mask doesn't really look that good).

I thought it looked fantastic as well guys. The great thing about the "white" mask is there are so many great variations that no quote "winner" will ever be announced. But after seeing this I do think this mask captures the true on screen look of the Shape maybe better than any other I have seen. Thankfully artists are always coming up with new sculpts and degns to improve upon it even more.....

The mask looks really accurate.

But how much costs Myers mask from Nikolas Art Gallery?

Yea, I posted those comparison shots on MM net

The neck looks a little wide, could be the way J's wearing it. From what J told me this is probably the deluxe edition with mohair. Would love to purchase a small ze

I remember back when this first appeared over at MM.net and it pretty much led to frenzy over there and completely overwhelmed Nik and AHG with requests and they pretty much decided not to do anymore but it may have changed nce then.

I've felt for a while though that J's mask, even more than the other NAG/AHG collaborations out there, was the most dead on H1 ever made.

Some of his pics and vids were damn near identical.

It helped that he also takes great photos but even bedes that this is definitely a hall of fame mask in my opinion.

When a huge portion of the horror collectible community has to collectively change into some Depends (or Oops I Crapped My Pants for the SNL folks out there) it's pretty much a big deal

Well i was meditating on this:

that "white mask" was made from another mask (a mass produced one at that)

which was casted thin, reputedly made with latex that was mixed with clay (to stretch and help off shoot the expense of latex). the exact hair is under dispute (as i understand it).

hell there are questions about some scenes, such as the phone scene might have been altered by Dean Cundy (who has been known to alter the footage it self)

the fact that it was a thin pull, and how the converon was done is still under dispute. hell facts about the kirk it self is under dispute. . (I would love and gladly welcome any true veterns tell me other wise)

but its funny, based on what i think i know, it seems that if a perfect replica of the h1 hero was made. would it have to be made with a cheaper latex? Would you need the perfect zed head? etc etc. .

I think this is why myers (particularly h1) is so addicting. .

(writing this in a hurry, as i am on the way out the door to work)

Ladies in gentle men, your thoughts?!

Interesting thought man.

Speaking to one of your points deus, I certainly wasn't lucky enough to get one of the NAG/AHG collaborations, but I do have an H78 from Nik that is milar (same master mold anyway) to the one used in the converon and one of my favorite things about it is that it is a really thin pull.

It's way thinner than any of my other masks and lends itself really well to stretch without getting overly distorted.

That's good because I have a huge noggin that gives me a natural sort of "Castle" stretch.

My only regret is that I decided to go with his "deluxe" veron which has the supersoft red hair.

At the time I thought it was kinda different and would be unique but now I wish I had a regular brown mohair more like J's.

I might get it rehaired but I've never looked into it and wouldn't be sure who to ask.

Scott's been doing great work (hint hint lol).Got off the subject there but I would be interested to see what a mask cut from the same type materials as the original would look like.

But I wouldn't want it any thinner than Nik's.

At least that's the case with my copy and I specifically asked for a thinner cut way back when I ordered it.

Myself personally I don't see how a brand of latex is going to make it or break it? I mean, to an extent that is. Some latex I sopose would make it look a little weird. I think alot of the look had to come from Castle in general. The '75 Kirk, was a Small mask. Nick had more of an Oval shaped head and had a ton of bushy hair. I think with the hair pushing the des of the mask out a little and his oval head stretching it up and downwards, gave the lips that fucked up look of the bottom one being further out on the right de. I say if the UL75 was casted in a thinner more flexible latex, Painted under close attention to the film and had the same hair style as the one J posted at the beginng of this thread, we would have the Most dead on.

I think in order to have the hair look the most dead on, I would try to find out exactly what type of hair was used on the Actual 75 Kirk.

If I were to hair the most accurate Myers mask, I'd actually do the hair just like a Kirk. Then I would rip the deburns off just as John did for the film. I would tweak the hair style back to it wouldn't have the "Kirk Flip" and then I'd spray many misty layers of blank fabric paint into the hair until I acheived that look. Because the hair was originally blonde, when the black is sprayed in, it kinda gives us the feeling of a dark brown hair. Not to mention when the paint would dry into the hair, it would have that stiff stringy look to it, like the film... It's crazy, but have any of you guys that seen HalloweeN ever see Michael's hair moving around from wind or movement? I never... Must have been the paint that held it in place.

Would the UL75 be the most accurate mask being worn??? I highly doubt it, nobody has the same shaped head as Nick, but it would make a great replica of what it looked like Unworn...

taking all the mask makers out of the equation i say yeah it looks about as good as those scenes can look.

It seems to capture the most looks of H1.

Several masks pull off a certain look or two, but honestly there is only one that is the most accurate is the DW KH. I would DB2 converted by Colin and the McCain Kirk Converons and few AHG Mint 75 converons are the close second. Just my opinion though
