Quite frankly I'm not one bit excited... I'm just going to see the blood ._.

*** Ok now I'm excited because I might have a date to see the movie (^_^)/
BloodyAdored Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:14 AM | 80719
I totally love the original, but I'm stoked on the remake.
kennyxedge Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:15 AM | 80720
im not excited and i am not even going to see it i loved the original and i hate remakes so much
Beauty-Of-Death666 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:20 AM | 80722
Of course I'm curious about the remake, but enough with the damn remakes already.

I'm going to have to see it eventually to review it though.

It sure would be nice to do it for free, then watch the original either to compare the 2 or wash the taste of the remake out of my brain, depending how it is.
fromhell13 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:22 AM | 80723
I don't think it will be good at all, but I'd love a DVD of the original. What ever happened to horror.

How I feel about remakes:

Morphine Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:23 AM | 80724
I actually saw a pre-screening of this movie a few months ago, and I was pretty happy for it to be remade. I wasn't a huge fan of the original, so it was nice to see some modern twists.
humanroasthouse Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:28 AM | 80725
I'm very excited for the remake because Colin Farrell is a great actor and the original is a bit dated to me.
sh831994 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:30 AM | 80726
I don't like the idea of a remake but I'm willing to give it a chance!
Trickytreater Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:33 AM | 80727
I'm fully pumped to see the Fright Night remake this Friday. Maybe even catch a midnight advanced screening if I can find one somewhere. I'm a huge fan of the original, and the original will always remain a clasc, even if this remake ends up not doing so well. With all the remakes these days, most of which are always bad, it causes lots of movie fans to be skeptical for any remake coming out, which I understand is perfectly normal, nce ever cult clasc is now being remade. I happen to think this remake will be one the the great ones, and I'm ready to see it right now. Tom Holland did a fantastic job with the original, but it will be cool to see a new look on a film that is one of the best vampire movies ever. I stand 100% behind Fright Night 2011!
thatonemovieguy2010 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:44 AM | 80728
im just loving the fact that kid cudi made a video and song for this movie..
deadly cmr Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:44 AM | 80729
I can't wait to see it! Colin Farrell as Jerry Dandridge is like having Bnizzle or Matt as the star! I'm all in! ;)
Disturbed_voices Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:46 AM | 80730
I wasn't sold but am now after all the clips I have seen. Def giving it a chance.

Ass kicking contest!
Dogdays Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:47 AM | 80731
I am looking forward to Fright Night. I think their ar things that can be improved in this remake. Also, the one good thing that comes from a lot of remakes is the re-release of the original films and their sequels. I am hoping that when the Fright Night remake gets it's DVD and Blu-ray release, that hopefully we will hear of a re-release of the Fright Night sequel. That is a very hard movie to find, and I would like too get a copy of it!
Colwolverine Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:53 AM | 80732
I am looking forward to the remake. I think the original movie is perfection, but the story is so good, it will be nice to see a different take on it. Thanks!
melissatokar Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:57 AM | 80733
My first reaction was excitement when I heard there was going to be a remake. I usually don't dread remakes because I wanted to see what changes they made. I saw Fright Night in 3D at an early screening last Thursday and it really delivered. I went in the theatre not expecting much, but it surprised me so much. The 3D was brilliant. I had a lot of fun watching it.

I can tell people didn’t want to leave the theatre when the credits started rolling. I think very few will be disappointed because most of it was almost true to the original. It was worth checking out 100%. Who wouldn't want to see Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Evil Ed right?
wasteland Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 06:22 AM | 80734
I've watched the remake of Fright Night last Saturday in a festival and it was really fun. The 3-D is cool, but nothing more.

I'm waiting to watch again.
gugaleso Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 06:46 AM | 80736
I'm always hetant about a remake right off the bat. I'm a huge fan of the original Fright Night and the trailers for this remake don't exactly have me psyched. However, I have been proven wrong numerous times with remakes before. I will have my major doubts, talk crap and then when I finally come around to watching it...I'll end up really enjoying it. Who knows, maybe the Fright Night remake will be one of those, but I remain skeptical. No matter what, we always have the original to fall back on so this remake is there to take or leave. Hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise to all the big fans out there and those really looking forward to it. :0)
Silverpsycho Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 06:49 AM | 80738
Although I'm not always crazy about the idea of remakes I have to admit that I usually look forward to seeing them and hoping to see

a fresh take or at least what they do with the characters or FX. VERY few have done them well but they are out there. I'll go in as I always do expecting the worst and hoping for the best. If it fails we'll always have the original to revit.

Craddock Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 07:10 AM | 80739
Well, I like the original..It is a good movie, but I don't love it like I love many horror movies from the same era..I like Near Dark and The Lost Boys more.. I am not entirely sure if I the trailer for the remake has shown me me enough to judge whether it looks good or bad to me. It looks like it could be fun, and it looks very different than the orginal, so I wouldn't mind going to see it..I haven't seen a horror movie in the theater nce Scream 4, and that feels like years ago. I love going to the theater to see a horror movie on a Saturday night after work.Even if it is a remake, and it has been too long.
Moon Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 07:19 AM | 80740
I don't care much for ReMakes, Unoriginality, or Vampire films.. But a free t-Shirt is neat.
ubersteigen Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 08:42 AM | 80744
Totally excited, I'm even dragging my dad to go see it
HorrorDaily Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 09:00 AM | 80745
I'm really looking forward to the remake--and I'm usually 100% against remakes in general.

Written by the excellent Marti Noxon (of tv's Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame), with really terrific choices for castmates this movie could end up being really special!
GoreMetChef Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 09:20 AM | 80748
I'm open to remakes (after all we got the thing didn't we?) And Colin Farrell is a great actor, I'm just hoping the movie isn't awefull. Just entertaining should do it.

also dvd or free tshirt are always welcome.
unrealbe Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 09:50 AM | 80750
I was totally deadset against the idea because I love the original and HATE remakes with the blinding pason of a thousand white hot suns. Early casting news had me less than thrilled - Colin Farrell, seriously? But I became hopeful in hearing David Tennant was cast in the Peter Vincent role, because I know if anyone can do Roddy McDowell justice, he can. The subsequent promo material and trailers have left me hopeful.
dew Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 11:32 AM | 80754
I wasn't sure about this one at first because I love the original but I can now say that I'm excited to see this movie...
NightShape Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 01:37 PM | 80761
I'm not that excited. I hate when they Remake films that were fine to begin with
DoubleshotJ Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 01:59 PM | 80763
I am kinda excited about this one.

Although I hate remakes, I am curious about what they do with the material.
Booklad Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 02:04 PM | 80765
I'm excited to see it because I wanna see if it can do the original justice.
Mitchell91 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 02:21 PM | 80766
I know the remake will lack all the key elements that the 85 veron had, but I think it will be a fun re-imagining.

Count me in!
Nsidious9 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 04:46 PM | 80775
I really did love the original and I'm not a fan of the vampire genre. The vampire in this looks like your stereotypical, Gothic looking dude -- who could definitely pass off as nothing more than a vampire. The original was clever, and the characters were believable. After a trailer or two of this -- I'm not sure if I like the idea. Although, I hope the remake sparks a new interest in the vampire genre in general, because let's face it -- twilight is goofy. I'm sorry but, vampires are not supposed to sparkle and fall in love and what not; vampires are supposed to rip peoples heads off & seduce women. I don't know -- I suppose that's my two cents ha ha.
VeganRichy Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 04:50 PM | 80777
I am pushing all in for this. Like I said a few days ago, I wrote it off completely but for once the buzz and video clips have swayed my decion. I am going in with an open mind.
Shakelford, J. Rusty Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:16 PM | 80780
I'm stuck in the middle with you, no but seriously I would say I'm torn on this one. The original was goofy and fun and the practical effects were awesome! The remake is of course ung CGI so it already has that against it but it does have Fogal (Mclovin) in it so it could be pretty funny, we will see. One thing is for sure, the girl playing the girlfriend in the remake sure looks a lot hotter.
Sephit Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:30 PM | 80782
Cant top the original cast!!! It was brilliant,
ny ghoul Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 05:48 PM | 80784
I'm not sure on this at the moment. I always wait until i see someting to judge it. BUT one thing that has swayed me to worrie is Dandridge and Peter Vincent's chatacters.

My one big complaint so far... They should have stuck with IMO how the original Jerry was older, very studious and refined. Right down to his clothing.

I'm not seeing any of these traits in Collin Farrell's Jerry at all from the trailers. To me there are better suited actors in Hollywood for this part, or even scouted for an un-known to play Jerry. Even if they used an actor somewhat younger; the charisma and character that Sarandon brought to the role is what made that character period. That should have been the one thing that remained a corner stone in this remake. IMO it's like Freddy without his glove.

But like i said, i will see it and make my decion then.

Great topic BTW!

I only like some remakes, but would be interested in seeing it.
sirbrad Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 06:02 PM | 80786
I am somewhat interested in the remake, but do not have very high expectations.

I seriously doubt it will hold up to the original.
ajun666 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 06:19 PM | 80790
I'm actually pissed at the idea of them touching the clasc. It was done PERFECTLY the first time, thanks to Chris Sarandon. He is/was/will always be what I picture in my head to be the PERFECT vampire. he's got it all... and I'm also just mad because, come on..another remake..really?! LOL this shit is a joke!

ImTheWolf Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 07:27 PM | 80795
Wasn't on board with it originally, but the newer trailers have swayed me to check it out.
Gnarly Nico Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 07:34 PM | 80797
Can't wait to check it out !

Been going nuts nce I heard it was on the way !
MovieGraveDigger Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 07:48 PM | 80802
At first I was not excited at all because I am not a fan of remakes, but than the more I saw of the clips and trailer I got into really quick .I mean there are alot of scenes that are in this and they were not in the original which I think it very cool .I hate 3D movies because I feel that over due them and it seem like ever movie today is done in 3D which to me doesn't make much sense .All you need to get people to see your film is a great script and great director and have great characters

written.

So yes I am very excited about this movie more than I thought I would be and I will be buying it for sure when it comes out
nightmareblade Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 08:30 PM | 80805
Hey,

at first when i saw the trailer on apple, com I was like eh! why a remake? ( original was fantastic) but when I saw more and more revieled I was like "wow not too bad"...... I actually like how they make charlie more bad ass towards the end of this remake (from what i can see in the trailer) I just hope he still goes to an old vampire killer actor but I doubt it..either way looks like a good way to kill 2hrs :)
Michaelmath53326 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 08:31 PM | 80806
To be honest, I originally thought this looked lame. The jokes were awful, and the actor who's playing Peter Vincent is just the wrong choice for the role, plain and mple. However, as time has progressed, I've become a little less stingy, so I'm now actually looking forward to seeing it. Colin Farrel is nowhere near as good as Chris Sarandon, but I guess he'll do. Actually, now that I think about it, this actually looks really good! It looks like there are some really badass moments, and I guess it could be a really fun popcorn flick. With extra cheddar. The original is one of my all-time favorites, but this one looks good, even if they're really abung the CGI.
ObscureCinema101 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 08:42 PM | 80808
I'm pretty stoked but already knowing the story, I don't know how well attached I'd be to it.
senoznom Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 08:50 PM | 80812
Fright Night is freakin' BADA** period!!!
Throwdown10/31 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 09:23 PM | 80818
I just recently viewed the old Fright Night and I absolutely loved it. Can`t wait to see what they have done to this clasc hopefully it`s a good remake of an old clasc.

Horrorhottie627 Tuesday 8/16/2011 at 10:28 PM | 80826
Looking forward to seeing it. I'm not really sure how good this movie will be but Colin Farrell makes a HOT vampire! However, no one can replace Chris Sarandon
Dawn_Voorhees Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 12:12 AM | 80831
Fright Night '11 has some mixed indicators.

Director Craig Gillespie helmed such duds as Mr. Woodcock but did the genius Lars and the Real Girl.

Screenwriter Marti Noxon specialized in pretty kid vampire material, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, something the new Twilight generation has fallen pratfall to.

The cast: Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, and McGlovin. And it's rated R.

Overall, I anticipate Fright Night '11. But if I'm disappointed I'll try to avoid doing this:

D.F. Jackson Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 01:10 AM | 80833
I'm pretty psyched about the remake. Normally I'm wary going in, but it's a franchise I love and they seem to have nailed down a great cast. It'll be good to see some proper vampires in the movies again.
baristo Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 01:36 AM | 80835
As a Colin Farrell fan, I have to admit,

I'm excited to see this remake.

I am going to see it and I'll enjoy it i'm sure.

I'm not really a big fan of remakes, but this could be alright.

Can I enter twice? I want to see this dammit! :P
Shakelford, J. Rusty Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 03:58 AM | 80853
I am usually one of the folks with a bad attitude towards remakes so I full expected to take a negative stance towards this one too, but when I started seeing the trailers, I warmed up to it immediately.

Now Im fully in the "excited to see it" camp and trying very hard to maintain my curmudgeonly attitude towards remakes so I don't loose face too badly amongst my horror loving friends. :)
sharkbait Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:18 AM | 80855
I am looking forward to the remake to see what they did to improve/ruin it. I found the first one very good and kinda campy, so think they will make the remake darker??

Will have to wait and see...

BTW.. 1st ever post!! Yaaaaah
sajak551 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:20 AM | 80856
Originally, I dreaded the remake of this film but the more clips and trailers I see the more interested I become... I won't see it opening night but will probably check it out in theaters
lebrunsky99 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:21 AM | 80857
I'm skeptical I must admit but it'll be interesting to see Colin Farrell playing a vampire. The original terrified me for years as a kid just on the old VHS box art alone and the film itself stands out as one of my all-time favorite vampire films. My friend Marcel did an awesome makeup job of the final transformation from Fright Night 2, he was demoing prosthetic work it was awesome
Shadow Jerusalem Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:30 AM | 80858
Although I truly doubt it can be anywhere near as clever, fun, or creepy as the original, I do look forward to checking it out!

Thanks for the awesome contest guys!
hellachris Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:40 AM | 80859
Original is my favorite vampire film of all time. I am still excited to give the new film a chance.

I am always up for a hbid contest and yes I am excited to see the movie. I just gave up, they are going to remake everything why not give it a try. If I hate it then I hate it. I still have the original to watch.

I can't wait actually so far i've liked every remake that came out except Amityville horror with Ryan Reynolds.
DARKKNIGHT76 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 06:24 AM | 80868
The trailer actually looks pretty awesome and it's gotta pretty good cast.

David Tennant alone is enough to get me excited to check it out.
steelcorpfilms Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 07:37 AM | 80872
I liked the original, not much on remakes, but there have a been a few good ones. I'll most likely see it
Last_Chance Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 12:10 PM | 80882
I think it might be decent.

It will in no way have the charm of the first one, so that's not even an issue.

It will probably be a lot darker and more violent.
ilovejohncarpenter Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 12:25 PM | 80883
"Welcome to Fright Night"!!! Can't wait!
Throwdown10/31 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 01:21 PM | 80884
I'm not as pumped up as i should be about this film, As vampire films just aren't the same as they used to be and the remakes of vampire films these days suck so bad that they may as well be starring a toothless gramp vamp!

On the other hand this could be the film that remakes the vampire films of today and sends all the other films to the dentist to have there fangs filed down before being kicked back in to starring in high school flicks in which twilight should be the star for!
skum13 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 01:54 PM | 80887

Well I am very excited to see this remake...the original is by far my favorite movie ever! The original had a great cast, great storyline, great muc, etc. From what I've seen in the previews to this one, it looks like it will do some justice and throw away crappy remakes. Sure, I wish Stephen Geoffreys coulda had a cameo but cmon...even Chris Sarandon makes an appearance! This is going to be so cool, Brewster!!!
Eviledgurl Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 02:04 PM | 80889
I'd be excited to see this remake if I won some tickets to see the movie.

I am fucking excited for this remake! I know a lot of peaople hate remakes but i love them!
gore210 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:42 PM | 80895
Thanks for having this contest. I can take or leave a remake. Because just like any film they turn out to be something that i like or don't like. I loved the original Fright Night and we will always have that film to watch and enjoy. So even if this new veron is bad there are no worries right? From what I have seen in the trailers the new film looks like it is something that I would enjoy. And if I get the chance to see it for free it is all the better for me.

Because lets face facts going to see a new film at theaters is always a gamble.

One puts down there often hard earned money to be entertained for a couple of hours. When we don't get the entertainment experience we hoped for it just plain sucks

This is why the movie rental industry is so huge. It is often a safer bet to get a netflix account and wait for a film to become available on that service. One can then just rent the film and watch it on your home theater system for a fraction of the cost of going to a multi-plex

to see a film. So if the movie is not to your liking you saved money. If you love the film you can watch it multiple times for again a fraction of the cost.

Wow sorry for the ramble and again thanks for the contest.

Piman334 Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 04:45 PM | 80896
Way to many mixed emotions on this one to say either way. I love the idea of Collin being in this and certainly want this to make vampires cool again and not a bunch of glow in the sunlight goofballs. I must say I do love the original and hope they even come 75% near as good as the first.
cropsy Wednesday 8/17/2011 at 05:17 PM | 80898
I hate the idea.

And can't stand David Tennant

I'm so excited to see this movie because: I love the original. I like the actors that were casted in this. I love the writter Marti Noxin.

Being a fan of the Vampire genre, it's nice to see a vamp movie in theaters where the vampires don't sparkle!

Not excited at all. it's kind of a contradiction though; the winner will receive tickets to the movie, even though they might not like it. oh well! free tickets to a movie is always nice

I am very interested to see the remake.I am a very big fan of the original being a child of the

80's .But more than that,I'm a fan of great horror films. The original did what few films remember how to do anymore and that's blending experience with youth. It had a great blend of Seasoned Actors such as Sarandon and the Great

Roddy McDowell with talented newcomers Ragsdale and Bearse. Now the remake has the talent with Farrell and Tennant and a good blueprint

in the original. So lets see what Gillespie can do with it. And contest or not,Let me remind all of those of us who are bitching and moaning about remakes.....If the director sticks too close to the original , you bitch,If they tell a completely new story, you bitch, A remake can't win.Let's be reasonable ,some of our favorite movies are remakes.Prime example: John Carpenter's The Thing,That flick is one of the best Horror flicks out there but it was a remake. Carpenter took a story that

freaked them out in the 50's and made a film that freaked us out in the 80's.Now I am by no means saying that all remakes are of

that caliber but

let them stand on their own merits or failure and not in the shadow of the clasc that they are patterned after. And if nothing else,It might open the originals to an entire new audience that might not have check them out otherwise.

In my opinion most remakes are more misses than hits. There are a few remakes that I have enjoyed, but when I heard about the Fright Night remake I groaned. As details began to emerge about the cast I started to get excited because there isn't a ngle cast member in this that hasn't been in a film that I have enjoyed, but then the pictures started coming out and I moaned. When a the trailer was released and I sat here on my computer watching it till its end I shouted, " I SHALL NOT PAY TO SEE THIS BLASPHEMY ON

A HORROR CLASC FOR THIS I BEMOAN!!!". Yet If I were given free tickets to see it a change in my feelings I will condone.

Not excited at all. However I will watch it at some point mainly out of curioty.

The original is a clasc and didn't need the remake treatment.

I'm ck of clasc horrors being remade in order to satisfy the MTV generation.

i dont think mclovin can live up to the annoyingness of Stephen Geoffreys, dont think anyone in this world can say Brewster like he did,

and colin farrell is def not my top choice to b the vamp in this movie but i loved the original Fright NIght so im def gonna go c it but with very low expectations, hopefully im proved wrong and this movie is actually half decent

Im looking forward to the Fright Night remake, i'm just going into it open minded. It's better to watch films and not be jaded because they are remakes or seem lly. They are for entertainment purposes and you should enjoy yourself and enjoy them well your watching them and the trailer doesnt look bad to be honest. But we will see, movie trailers can be misleading.

Not too excited, but i'd like it to be at least somewhat respectable. Big fan of the original and the sequel.

Sorry NightmareBlade, when we have so many people enter it is hard to win. I mean it is 1 out of 93. Don't get frustrated, we have a lot of contests and we will be doing even more so stay tuned, you'll win sooner or later. Appreciate the fight though, that means your pasonate and horror fans aren't horror fans without pason.

Not sure about this... I have yet to see the original (which I am hoping to find on TV soon...) but it looks pretty interesting, I have see stills from the original, so I can't wait to see both.

Wow, you are pretty mad over a FREE contest. Why would they fix a free contest that you enter via a post? I know a lot of tes have fixed contests just to fish for emails and phone numbers, but for this to be fixed does not make much sense. I can vouch for one of the contests explaining why Friday 13th was great or something, and me posting about how it changed my life, and little did I know I would be a costume degner profesonally and make so many other's dreams come true. I got my prize which was a cool part 2 plush Jason doll. So I can definitely say that one was legit. I actually prefer constests based on content and work, not randomness all the time. Work keeps the numbers down as most want something for free with no work. The screen shot of you favorite movie kill or scene is an example, there was 3 total and only 2 legit entries, my Jason ones and another one's Myers shot. I had a crap camera at the time but it was still fun and cool.

Congrats Disturbed_Voices..I remember your post, and it sounded like you wanted the tickets more than I did..Glad to see someone who really, really wanted them got them. As I said, I just wanted to save money on going to the movies, and I probably will go see it tomorrow night anyway.
