Hidden Devil Spotted In Famous Artwork - Can You Spot It?

I am always scouring the web to find interesting stories that blend the horror genre but at the same time deliver something you might not find anywhere else. Below is a story taken from Yahoo!News about the Devil being found in detail of Giotto fresco in Italy's As.

ROME (Reuters) - Art restorers have discovered the figure of a devil hidden in the clouds of one of the most famous frescos by Giotto in the Balica of St Francis in As, church officials said on Saturday. The devil was hidden in the details of clouds at the top of fresco number 20 in the cycle of the scenes in the life and death of St Francis painted by Giotto in the 13th century.

The discovery was made by Italian art historian Chiara Frugone. It shows a profile of a figure with a hooked nose, a sly smile, and dark horns hidden among the clouds in the panel of the scene depicting the death of St Francis. The figure is difficult to see from the floor of the balica but emerges clearly in close-up photography. Sergio Fusetti, the chief restorer of the balica, said Giotto probably never wanted the image of the devil to be a main part of the fresco and may have painted it in among the clouds "to have a bit of fun."

The master may have painted it to spite someone he knew by portraying him as a devil in the painting, Fusetti said on the convent's webte. The artwork in the balica in the convent where St Francis is buried was last restored after it was severely damaged by an earthquake in 1997.

I'm usually pretty good at spotting these but it looks more like a lion or panther face to me, maybe I'm not looking in the right spot though.

I see it...doesn't really look like the devil tho I agree, it could seriously be anyones face but then they wouldn't get to make such a big deal over it would they.

I can see it, at least I think I can. I had to take a crappy art history class and we saw tons of paintings of the devil and they all had features milar to this.

I dunno, I think they are reaching a bit, its like when people always say they saw the face of satan in a storm cloud, or in the smoke of a house fire.

I found it I think... but there's at least 7 ways to see it that all look like distorted faces... pretty cool actually..
