Rob Zombie Has Yet Another Project - THE STAND - THE BIRDS - THE CONJURING 2

We have a bundle of news for you and first up..

Just last week we learned that director Rob Zombie has had a change of plans as he has a new Horror flick on the brain. It seems like that would be enough to keep anyone busy for a while, but according to Variety it seems that Zombie has yet another project that he is gearing up for. Writer Bret Easton Ellis, Rob Zombie and Alcon Television will team up to begin development on a project for Fox which will center around the Manson Family murders that took place in August 1969.

The project is still in the early beginings of being developed with Zombie looking to direct. Here is more:

"The Ellis-Zombie collaboration aims to tell converging stories of people and events leading up to and after the murders, from shifting points of view. The project is envisioned as a multi-part series, but it is one of many limited series projects in the works and is far away from receiving a greenlight."

Zombie has been very interested in the Manson Family murders story for a long time and seems excited about the project:

“I have been obsessed with this insane story since I was a kid, so obviously I jumped at the chance to be involved in this incredible project. After speaking with Bret, I immediately realized that we shared the same vision for this epic madness."

A remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film THE BIRDS has been rumored and talked about over the years for a long time now and the project appears to be moving on along for the better as THE BIRDS has found itself a director. Variety reports that Dutch filmmaker Diederik Van Rooijen is the lucky one to helm the project for Platinum Dunes and Mandalay Pictures.

Over the last year Scott Cooper and Ben Affleck were both in line to direct the new adaptation of Stephen King's THE STAND. Both men have since have walked away and a report from Deadline says that another director has been selected.

Josh Boone has been talking with Warner Bros. about coming on to direct the film and plans are for him to take the script through rewrites.

To wrap things up, Warner Bros. have announced that the release date for THE CONJURING 2 will be October 23, 2015.
