A New FRIDAY THE 13TH Video Game Is Being Developed!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Most everyone remembers the NES FRIDAY THE 13TH video game from over 25 years ago. You played as the camp counselors going around Camp Crystal Lake trying to save different sets of children who were inside of many cabins across the way, not knowing just where Jason would be waiting to pop out and do his thing. Now after all of these years, it appears that Jason Voorhees will be returning to video games once again.

EGM reports that a new FRIDAY THE 13TH video game is currently in development and will be an asymmetrical, co-operative and competitive multiplayer predator/prey Horror experience that pits a small group of resourceful survivors against a single player in control of the immortal, relentless slasher icon.

As of right now the game is tentatively titled FRIDAY THE 13TH and it is currently in development for multiple platforms aiming for an October release this year. According to the source, the game will reference the classic films from the franchise as well as the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH television series.

“With a new television series on the horizon and plans announced for the thirteenth installment of the film franchise, we felt the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form,” explains Sean S. Cunningham, “We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value, while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect.”

Cunningham hinted that an experienced game studio has taken the reins of the title’s development and will be announced in the coming weeks.

We will continue to bring you more on the FRIDAY THE 13TH video game as it unfolds.
