Disney has announced that they have officially reached an agreement that will allow them to purchase movie and televisions of Fox at the price of $52.4 billion. This means that Disney now owns 20th Century Fox, FX, the Fox network, the National Geographic channel and all of the properties that those particular divisions own.
“We’re excited about this extraordinary opportunity to significantly increase our portfolio of well-loved franchises and branded content to greatly enhance our growing direct-to-consumer offerings,” says Robert Iger, the chairman and chief executive of Disney.
This also means that the ALIEN and PREDATOR franchises are now owned by Disney. With the upcoming film THE PREDATOR set for release next year, it will be interesting to see how everything plays out.
THE PREDATOR is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters August 3rd, 2018.
