Update On The ASH VS EVIL DEAD TV Series!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

It wasn't long ago that we learned that Sam Raimi was working on a television project and now we know that the Evil Dead is officially coming to TV this year sometime. Starz picked up the new series which will be officially titled ASH VS. EVIL DEAD. It will be a follow up to Raimi's EVIL DEAD films and will feature an older Ash accompanied by two other yet to be named characters. Bruce Campbell will be reprising the iconic role. Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy all are writing with Sam set to direct the first episode.

We originally were hearing that the series will be made up of half hour episodes, then the rumors were that they each could run a full hour long. Now we finally have some resolve to that issue.

IGN recently spoke with the head of the Starz network Chris Albrecht.

In regards to how long the episodes will run he says:

"The half hour idea was their idea. And I can tell you it’s a chock-full half hour."

He then reveals that the new series will be filmed in New Zealand adding:

"Rob Tapert, who is the heart and soul of that hands-on producing team, makes his home there and we shot Spartacus there and there are great production teams there. We’re looking forward to being down there and flying talent back and forth."

On when we can expect to see ASH VS. EVIL DEAD air:

"I think most likely it will be fourth quarter [of 2015]. End of third quarter, fourth quarter, something like that. We’ve got a lot of shows this year. We’re very, very excited."

We will continue to bring you more on ASH VS. EVIL DEAD as it unfolds.
