Bad News For TALES FROM THE CRYPT Reboot?

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

TALES FROM THE CRYPT is a popular show based on EC Comics that originally aired on HBO from 1989-1996. Hosted by the Crypt Keeper himself, the long running series told many tales of Terror in a unique way that is still very effective to this day. There have also been different movie versions throughout the years in different forms.

Almost one year ago TNT announced that they would be partnering with M. Night Shyamalan to bring the much beloved Horror anthology series back to the small screen. TNT gave a 10-episode order for the TALES FROM THE CRYPT TV series which plans were for it to be hosted by a new Crypt Keeper as part of a weekly multi-series Horror Block that Shyamalan would oversee.

With recent news indicating that the project would be taking inspiration from the EC comics, it appears that some very sour news could be consuming the situation.

According to B-D, a very credible source who is close to the development process claims that the TNT TALES FROM THE CRYPT project is "in hot water, if not dead altogether". Apparently the budget is the problem as TNT had planned to have TALES FROM THE CRYPT lead a Horror Block that would include two additional shows TIME OF DEATH and CREATURES.

Keep in mind that this has NOT been confirmed as of yet, but we felt that it was worth reporting since B-D's credibility is usually solid.

We will continue to keep you updated on TNT's possible TALES FROM THE CRYPT as we hear it.
