Update On The TREMORS TV Series Within!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Tremors and Graboid fans learned not long ago that there will be a part 6 in the franchise as announced by Michael Gross on Facebook. 2015 saw the release of TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES which was well received and fans are gearing up for the next installment.

There has also been a TREMORS TV series that has slowly been building and today we bring you some fresh word on that.

The TREMORS TV series will see the return of Kevin Bacon in the role of Valentine McKee.

The series is being written by Andrew Miller who has been keeping the details very tight lipped. Miller has stated that the show will see Valentine McKee in the town of Perfection, Nevada many years later after the events of the original film.

Miller says of Valentine:

“a horrible loser in this town that had a brief moment of glory in the '80s or '90s and is now worse off than it was before. The town is coming face to face with failure."

Miller’s Story will focus on:

“the notion of nostalgia as a drug that's killing us and looking back on a time – the longer you look at that time in the mirror without accepting reality, these monsters start to grow beneath the surface. In this case it's these worms that are literally growing beneath the surface."

Kevin Bacon recently spoke to Screen Daily offering an update on the show’s progress saying:

“We are going to do a pilot for Syfy.

(Valentine is) the only character I’ve ever played that I was interested in exploring 25 years later. (TREMORS) is a really good movie. I don't go back and watch my movies but because we were doing this one, I had to go back and look at it. It's just the idea of this loser who is living a very ordinary life and has an extraordinary experience with these monsters and becomes, for a moment, a hero."

During the interview, Bacon also revealed that the upcoming TREMORS mini-series will be eight episodes in length versus the previously planned ten.

At this time there is no word if Michael Gross would appear on the TV series as Burt Gummer. He will however once again reprise the character in TREMORS 6, which is set for home video release on January 30th 2018.

We will continue to bring you more on this story as we hear it.
