HorrorBid's Rabbit In Red (Ep. 34) Dan Farrands

http://www.horrorbid.com/images/blog/2248.

Vince started off the show with his "Rules to follow for future horror films." Mike and Vince went over just a couple of the unwritten rules for the future of horror films. Vince talked about how sequels and back stories should be used very carefully. Vince brought up the news story about Terminator 5 and why the first cast needs to be there. The guys went over about the fans needing a new ICON for horror and why direct to DVD/Blu Ray is a good thing for horror.

Dan Farrands, (Halloween 6, Never sleep again, His name was Jason.) came on and you know Michael J had the freak out moment! Dan talked about EVERYTHING you needed to know and may have never knew about Halloween 6. He talked about who the first director was supposed to be and went over about all the hard times during the filming. He told Vince who he wanted to play the man in black as Dr. Wynn. All of this and much more in this fantastic interview.

Back from the break and actress Michelle Shields (ster Mary, Frankenstein: Day of the Beast, Post Mortem) came by to do the news and talk about her latest films. Vince and Michelle judge Michael J's choices over his recast of the Halloween Re-Make of 2007. Went over some of the news stories on HorrorBid. Talked about Lords of Salem and what the story will be about. Michelle talked about some of the films and her thoughts on horror today and yesterday. Some really good fun to say the very least.***CLICK THE PLAYER BELOW TO START/STOP THE SHOW*** Writer of HALLOWEEN 6: The Curse of Michael Myers Dan Farrands is interviewed at the 47:30 minute mark. Great show guys! One of the best yet.

I really think you do a great job of picking your guests and get really interesting inghts into the stories behind the movies we all love. Its refreshing to hear the guests themselves often saying 'great question, I've never been asked that...'

Keep doing what you're doing. The horror community needs shows like this and you guys are doing an amazing job!

Thank you very much for taking time to download the show and to comment. It was nice to know that there isn't any bad blood between Dan and the Director. That was a long running rumor for many years. I really loved how Dan pretty much riped the choice of Mitch Ryan to play Wynn LOL!!! I feel many would agree Christopher Lee would of been a solid choice for that role and Fred Walton to come on and direct.

I do not know about anyone else, but know that we have the facts I can no longer RIP Halloween 6. I will still RIP Michael J for loving it though.

Great show like always, guys. The interview with Dan was very interesting and I loved hearing Michelle's opinions on things. It's nice to hear that she's a fellow Rob Zombie fan. (Haha Vince, "chick rock") Can't wait till your next show...I'm going back to rewatch Halloween 6 now (I won the Producer's Cut in a Horrorbid contest and I couldn't be more excited to see it) well later, guys.

You deserve it B! You're killing it with all these great articles!

Great show guys and I think the only question I have is, why the hell didn't they just let Dan direct the movie. His desciption of how he wanted the scenes and what he would

have done seemed perfect!

You guys are great and I thank you for all the kind words. Mike and I are always thankful to get great guest to come onto the show. Sometimes we are not always lucky to have guest. Brian, you're a mad man with the articles. Justin, I think we all know why Dan wasn't going to direct Halloween 6. This was the first Halloween under

Dimenon Films. If you watch "Halloween: 25 years of terror" you will really understand how complicated it was to make Halloween 6. In the interview Dan explains how so many people had their hands on changing his work around.

Now it's time to work on next weeks Friday the 13th show.

H6 is prolly my favorite Halloween other than the original 2 and H20. I'm glad Donald Pleasence got to do one more Halloween! Love the show too!

I don't care what anyone says about how they tried to change his work. I listened to the interview again and Dan would've done a better job directing than Joe Chapelle.
