HorrorBid's Hot or Not - The "Neve Campbell" SCREAM Edition
The trivial purpose of dissecting a horror movie into as many pieces as we can has led us to this new weekly feature where we ask the chauvinistic question of whether a particular "scream queen" is quote "hot or not?". As brutal as it sounds, we are mply doing it for fun and no other reason. We are bang this solely on whether the particular scream queen was truly a beauty and nothing more or an actual great actress putting eye candy ade.
Last week Jamie Lee Curtis from the original 1978 HALLOWEEN was on the proverbial chopping block so to speak and barely squeaked out a "hot" by a mere one vote. Apparently Michael was going after her for other reasons than to woo her into becoming a prom date. Actually if you're even condering taking your ster to the prop then an insane asylum and a white mask may be a good idea.
This week we go back to the future (I always work that into a post when I can for search engine purposes, lol) to time when horror movies were stalled out. The same old gimmicks of the past were wearing thin with an cyberspace and increang technological audience. Something needed to happen and it did. Wes Craven brought the fans back to the theaters with the teen slasher flick SCREAM. The film not only broke the fourth wall, making fun of prior horror flicks and explaining the rules but it also gave us one of the 90's most famous scream queens Neve Campbell. She went on to start in three more sequels but we won't get into those here. We'll save those for a different time and a different day. In other words, don't get us started.
