Why Hasn't THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Series Received The Documentary It Deserves?

All the big name players have had them. Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Norman Bates and even recently Ghostface. Documentaries are a big thing lately within the horror genre and exploring the "cult" following these characters represent for their series has become almost a staple.

So with all of the great documentaries out there why hasn't THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE received the same treatment? I know what you're going to say, what about "Flesh Wounds: Seven Stories of the Saw" that was included on the reissued 2-disc DVD set of the original film that was released in 2006? That was a fantastic doc but it didn't explore the levels of the sequels that many die hard TCM fans would have hoped for.

With the rebirth of LEATHERFACE coming to us in 3D next October is it not the perfect time to delve into the drama that is the TCM legacy? What do you think, we want to hear your thoughts?

I'm seriously all for this. I am HUGE fan of documentaries, and you certainly hit the nail on the head with this inquiry. It's been over 35 years nce aforementioned franchise was born, and like you said, there's been only one doc thus far. And it only dealt with the original. I'm optimistic that we'll see a documentary chronicling the entire franchise, I'm just hoping it's sooner then later.

Texas Chainsaw: Revited is a really good TCM documentary. It doesn't go over the entire series but it's definitely worth checking out.
