FACT OR FICTION? Diablo Cody Hired To Re-Write EVIL DEAD Remake!
That would be fact Deadites and Bidites alike! Yes after a whirlwind of speculation and years of whispers THE EVIL DEAD remake is finally happening and moving at an alarmingly quick rate. Although with years of speculation I am not sure this is such an alarming rate but hey, that is for you the fans to decide.
The studio also revealed that the film be coming to us thanks to director Fede Alvarez, who wrote the former draft with Rodo Sayague. Fede is probably most notably known for his short film PANIC ATTACK that went viral a few years ago and is shown below in this article.
Having Diablo Cody (JUNO, JENNIFER'S BODY) hired on to step in and make changes will throw up red flags to die-hard EVIL DEAD fans faster than you can say Klaatu Barada Nikto but this isn't going to be your fathers EVIL DEAD and I think we will learn that as the months progress.
The original film followed five friends who discover a Book of the Dead in a remote cabin, where they unwittingly summon dormant demons intent on possesng them.
“We are committed to making this movie and are inspired by the enduring popularity and enthuasm for the EVIL DEAD series,” the producers said in a statement. “We can’t wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers ung filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years ago as well as Fede bringing a fresh eye to the film’s original elements.”

I myself have heard of rumors of a remake, a sequel, prequel and many many supposed actors to take bruce campbells place.
I am a huge fan of the evil dead series and i am stuck between wanting to see somebody elses take on the epic film that it is... and also wanting them to leave it alone and let it be what it is, as most will agree it is nothing without bruce campbells chin and sam ramais hell of a story.
So... im looking forwards to it.. but not wanting it to happen.. as for diablo cody i have only just heard as to who she is...

^ have faith friend. Campbell and Raimi will still have a large say in it. Raimi isn't gonna let someone murder his baby - not after so much time. If he didn't care how it turns out, he probably would've made it years ago. AT LEAST I FUCKING HOPE SO. lol

Diablo Cody should stick to comedies. While I enjoyed Jennifer's Body even though it really was pretty awful, she is not good at writing horror. I don't want to see The Evil Dead butchered, I really don't.
