Who's Ready For A Slice Of Adam Green's KILLER PIZZA?

Lets face it, I have a small love affair with director Adam Green. It was well documented when Frozen came out and both Hatchet films. Love his style or hate it, this impartial person is partial when it comes to Mr. Adam Green. So with that being said you will either love the news I have or not really give a rats ass. I for one am excited.

According to our friends at Deadline, MGM studios is in talks to acquire the film making rights to Green's latest script entitled "Killer Pizza". The film is an adaptation from a Greg Taylor book about a 14-year old boy who lands a summer job at a pizza joint that is actually a front for a monster hunting enterprise. Sounds like a fun throw-back film doesn't it?

Talks are underway for Rafaella De Laurentiis to produce with 1492 Pictures and CJ Entertainment. 1492 Entertainment’s Chris Columbus brought it to MGM after meeting with the brass there and senng the studio’s appetite for Gremlins and Goonies-type fare, and Killer Pizza fit that bill.

Now we all remember that MGM went bankrupt last year but they are now back in the green and looking to acquire new properties and with Adam Green being a blooming up and coming director this may be the case of the right person and the right project. My fingers are crossed, as I hope to see Adam Green get more and more projects off the ground. He truly is refreshing to the genre and this could be a good comedy/horror type film.

I wasn't a big fan of Frozen but Hatchet rules. I'm looking forward to this, I love Adam Green's directing style.

Frozen was great in my opinion. I like everything Adam Green has done so far. Killer Pizza sounds like it can be lots of fun if done right

Not a fan of Green at all. HATCHET 1 and 2 are "ok" at best. Bad scipt, bad acting, over the top fx and average directing. FROZEN was better, despite the opening which had some terrible script writing and acting as well. Can someone point out whats so great about Adam Green?

Anyway, I actually decided to read this book when the news broke a couple months (or maybe a year) back, and I can definitely see it playing as an Adam Green film. The writing in the book blows, but I think Green could tweak some things around and deliver a solid, '80s kid-flick throwback, like The Goonies (as you said), or better yet The Monster Squad.
