Writer For "Fright Night" Hired To Pen "Ouija" Movie

Per WorstPreviews,

Just recently, Universal Pictures abandoned "Ouija" due to budgetary concerns. Hasbro decided to finance the film and is now working with Platinum Dunes to turn the game into a feature film.

THR has learned that the company has hired Marti Noxon to write the script. Noxon is known for the "Fright Night" remake, "I Am Number Four" and the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series.

"Ouija" is still envioned as a family adventure in the tone of "The Mummy," centering on a family who has to deal with otherwordly chaos that is unleashed. Hasbro is also working with Ridley Scott on a "Monopoly" movie that Universal also wants nothing to do with.
