EXCLUSIVE: Photos of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Rooney Mara has transformed herself into the deep, dark character known as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's (FIGHT CLUB and THE SOCIAL NETWORK) upcoming film adaptation of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Thanks to Sony, HorrorBid has a few raw photos of Rooney on the set of the film, which is due to take audiences by storm on December 21st, 2011.

The synops for the film revolves around a journalist who is aided in his search for a woman who has been misng - or dead - for forty years by a young female hacker. The film is really dark, edgy and mysterious - just like Lisabeth Salander. This film brings up emotions that many films haven't been able to capture. The best reference we can provide would be comparing the film to the legendary THE LENCE OF THE LAMBS. It grabs ahold of you and doesn't let go.

To prepare for the role of Lisbeth Salander, actress Rooney Mara had her eyebrows bleached, her hair chopped, and her lip, brow, nose, and nipple pierced - all in one “very intense” day.

Feast on the images below. The film is directed by David Fincher and stars Daniel Craig, Roney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Embeth Davidtz and a host of others.

You guys got the wrong trailer for the extended 8-minute preview. Just saying. But it's definitely worth a watch if you can find it. Oh, and how the hell is this horror?

Thanks for the heads up about the trailer. Not sure I get your last question about "how the hell is this horror?". Do you conder "lence of the Lambs" to be horror? Probably right on the edge isn't it?

I have got to agree with BooMan, GWTDT aka Men Who Hate Women is not horror. lence of the Lambs has streaks of horror to it, but GWTDT does not have such streaks. Please keep these news to Crimebid.

I have to disagree with you guys that are saying GWTDT isn't horror. I think lence of the Lambs is a horror/thriller much the same as GWTDT. Have you guys seen the original foreign adaptation? Plus they are saying this is gonna be a hell of a lot darker. Sounds like horror to me personally. Good debate though....
