Back-to-Back Sequels For David Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" Trilogy?

"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" which is set to hit theaters everywhere December 21st, 2011 is David Fincher's take on the novel based on the same name. The novel is just one book in a trilogy of books that complete a series which Fincher is hoping to direct as well barring that the Sony produced film does well at the box office. Fincher has sated he would be more than happy to film the sequels and would even like to do it back-to-back milar to the way Peter Jacskon filmed "The Lord of the Rings" series.

"Clascally movie studios don't make deals with director even if there's a hope that there's going to be 3 , because they want to make sure that you behave," Fincher explained. "But yes, the second two books are very much one story. It doesn't seem prudent to me to go to Sweden for a year, come back for a year, put out the second one, go to Sweden for a year, go back for a year."

It would come as no surprise that "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" will do well as it has already screened extremely well by the critics taking in a 94% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com. So expect to see more from Fincher and this series in the future.
