Well... It only takes 2 secs to answer this question for myself anyway. I don't expect others to agree although given the fact that he seems to be one of the top 2 Icons, I'm sure there will be alot of Agrees...

Most of you all know me to have the backround setting as Kruger. I do the Sweaters, I always put this " " after my name and at one time I had a Freddy Banner, BUT If someone had a gun to my head asking me to pick 1 of the two and why, it would have to be the Friday The 13th series. The reason... As a series, it was kept on the Less of a Comedy de of things. Every movie kept you pulled in even though it was the same formula, you still got a few jumps in from it not having any comedy. Comedy ruins the (Fear) in it all... Now, if Freddy would have remained the same like in Part 1 and 2, than I would have a ruff time and probably still shoot the gun to Jason because he is so much bigger and much more terrifing IMO...

I like Horror Comedy, BUT I prefer the Serious de of Horror that keeps you glued to the screen and on the edge...

I pick Friday the 13th.

I just have always been a fanboy of this series nce I was a youngster. NOES is a great series as well but I love the lone horror stalker storyline for whatever reason.

I have to go with Friday the 13th too...

The Friday series just seemed better overall to me, NOES was an amazing film as well..

But after part 2 it just dropped in quality, IMO.

New Nightmare was good though, just had a bad ending.

The only Fridays I don't like are VIII, JGTH and X.

I guess it could be nostalgia and character worship...

But I still love the Friday series more.

I am going to go with NOES. There is just something about dreams and the fact that Freddy can come and really terrorize you. Yes the sequels may have been sub par and yes they feature the likes of Roseanne and Tom Arnold but I have always just love those movies.I pick Fred.

I'm going to have to say I'd also go with "FRIDAY THE 13TH", sorry Fred.

Reason?

Well the movies settled this fight . . .Jason wins in the end (I don't care if Freddy winked or not dang it

)

All seriousness, if NOES hadn't gone more comical than this might be a bit more of a challenge (and it was nice to see Freddy get down and crazy again in the VS. flick) but over all F13 has more movies in the series and more serious Horror (in my personal opinion).

this is a toughy and all points have been very good. I am going to have to go with Nightmare due to my love of the series. Yes it did go commerical but at least we didn't have a Fredy takes ManhattanI look at the F-13 series as the same old stuff every film. Jason stalks teens for no reason, I just get tired of it. I like Freddy because of his personality, the fact that he is so evil yet still funny. gets my vote.

F-13 all the way for me. I love hack and slash and lets face it that is the crux of what Jason Voorhees is all about. Plus I love masks and there is just something special about his hockey mask in each film.

once again put me down for Friday the 13th...

Nightmare of Elm Street! Come on guys, this series was great. You have a pedophile guy wearing a Christmas sweater that fashioned a glove of knives plus he can kill you in your dreams.

NOES all the way, oh and horror bid is the shit and the forum is way cool!!!!!

Overall, I'd have to go with ANOES.

I grew up with these series and will always be a big fan of both, but the personality that Robert Englund brought to the role of Freddy gives the advantage to ANOES in my opinion.

To me, the Nightmare films are just more enjoyable to watch.

Nightmare all the way!

Jason does have his moments but I just dont think his series really brought all of its potential to the table.

See below for pros and cons

NOES PROS- 1) Robert Englund played Freddy in all of the movies.

Without him, it just wouldn't work. 2) Story somewhat stayed constant. 3) Freddy is more of a character then Jason ever was. 4) The creepy kids jumping rope all the time. 5) Tina's death scene as well as many of the other clascs throughout the series 6) Freddys Nightmares TV show.... Seriously was the SHEEEET 7) OMG JOHNNY DEPP....

OH SO HOT!Hot enough to make it into 2 movies.NOES CONS- 1)

I will have to admit some stuff did get kind of goofy BUT then again dreams are usually kind of goofy.

I dont know about you but I have had some really strange dreams and I have even done stuff that you couldn't do in real life. 2)

Rick's karate moves in Pt 4.

Seriously this guy......

Wow!

F13th Pros 1) 1-3 were top notch!

Pt 8 was cool too. 2) Death scenes are brutal 3) Atleast 5 minutes of the movie consts of 80s nude scenes w/ occaonal 80's bush. 4) Crispen Glovers dance in pt 4.

Corey Fieldman shaving his head and going crazy in pt 4 was great too. f13th Cons 1)

Jason is just an angry retard with retard strength.

How is that scary? 2)

The victims are always dumbasses.

Seriousy, who would swim in a dark ass lake butt ass naked especially if there has been known killings there?

Each movie is almost exactly the same and has no real plot to it.

Kids get naked at a lake, Jason kills kids, Jason gets 'killed' but gets brought back to life somehow in the next movie.

Rinse and repeat. 3) Do I need to bring up Jason X?

A nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th are equally good horror movies. However I must say A nightmare on elm street is better. The fridays were good when paramount owned the rights but once new line bought Jason The movies sucked. Jason goes to hell was a terrible Friday, the best part out of the whole movie was when freddys glove takes jasons hockey mask. Then theres Jason X, I liked it but for the wrong reasons. Its a Jason movie so I should like it as a horror movie, not the case, I see it as more of a comedy. And who can forget Freddy vs. Jason, the fight was awesome, the rest of the movie wasnt. I've found myself just skipping to the deaths and the fight of that movie. And I must add that Freddy won that fight. As for the nightmares, I could watch those all day long and never get bored. So above all the nightmares beat the fridays and Freddy is better than Jason.

NOES for me too...

The first two were huge for me, and my favorite part was the beginning of part 2 when the bus driver/Freddy goes to shift gears and the glove is on.

clasc!!

Just the overall creepiness of the movies and the fact that anything can happen at anytime.

I think Jason is more popular now, but if they could make a dark, scary NOES movie again, look out...

You highlighted something I love about NOES... It always had a great atmosphere.

I love that anything can happen, and the trantions between the real world and the dream world were great...

I love both movies but i would have to choose...Friday the 13th

For me always F13th. Ok, I agreed that a retarded with the power of Hulk is a little bit strange, but and Myers? And Halloween keeps being a great movie. Talking about ANOES and F13th, Freddy it's a creature that attack through the dreams. I can't see the fun in that. Real world, real deaths. What's better than a maniac with a hock mask a an axe in the hand behind next door? C'mon guys, you can't say that ANOES it's tooooo great than F13th, you make me sad... LOL I just think that Jason is a clasc killer, and a supernatural killer has to be dead, but really dead, and not a killer who chase his victims on their dreams... It's.... just.... nevermind...

But, guys, I LOVE YOU ALL!
