Behind the Mask with GEORGE P. WILBUR (Myers H4-H6)

HorrorBid Goes Behind the Mask with George P. Wilbur (Myers in H4 & H6)

I just want to say that in all my years involved in the horror genre I never thought there would be a day I would have the honor to interview so many influential people in this buness! Our next guest is the only actor in history to have played Michael Myers twice. George we want to thank you again for the kind words about our forum, we do like to have a good time around here and we look forward in having you join in the fun from time to time. Now buckle those set belts guys as we go Behind the Mask with the Boogeyman himself......George P. Wilbur!

How did you become involved with the Halloween series? A friend of mine, Fred Lerner, was the Stunt Coordinator for Halloween 4 and he told me to come in for an interview nce I fit the Producers’ ideal body type for Michael Myers. I met with Fred and Moustapha Akkad and landed the job.

How does it feel to have been the only actor to play Michael Myers twice? I’m honored to have that title although I may not always have it.

What was it like working with the legend Donald Pleasence? How was he when the cameras weren’t rolling? Donald Pleasence was an impresve guy; he’s a legendary Hollywood actor. I was thrilled to have known him. He was very pleasant, more of a quiet type when the cameras weren’t rolling. He was always very profesonal and prepared as an actor.

The H4 mask and H6 masks were so very different in degn. In you opinion which mask was your personal favorite Myers mask? I have to say that the H6 mask was my personal favorite nce it was custom made for me and molded to my face. It fit me perfectly. The H4 mask was pretty worn out and loose. That mask didn’t survive very long.

What were the coveralls actual color and degn in the 2 films?" They were both a grey in color and were bacally overalls a mechanic would wear.

Which movie was your personal favorite when you played The Shape? My personal favorite was Halloween 4. There were too many problems on the set of Halloween 6, including script and production issues. To me, Halloween 4 had a better script and the atmosphere was more profesonal.

Have you ever dressed as Michael Myers for Halloween or ever stalked someone slowly dressed as The Shape? Actually, I never have although all of the neighbor kids would have loved it.

I am sure the Shape broke character a few times on the set like with any film. Can you tell us a time when you just couldn’t continue you were laughing so hard? There was one time on the set of Halloween 6 when as I turned around the corner to enter the scene, an actor mooned me. Needless to say, we had to re-shoot the scene once everyone on the entire set finished laughing.

Would you ever conder playing the role of Michael again? Sure I would. I’m quite familiar with the character and the role, so it’d be an easy day at work for me.

What are your thoughts on the new Halloween remake and how Rob Zombie did re imagining the film? I felt that it was more of a Rob Zombie film and not a Halloween movie, or Halloween remake.

What upcoming project if any can you share with us? And what are your plans for the upcoming year? All I have planned is a few golf games with my brother-in-law. And my projects mainly const of attending appearances at conventions across the US.
