Big News On A Spin-Off Film From THE CONJURING!

This year was a great year for Horror no doubt about it. The summer itself dished out the mega hit THE CONJURING. It raked in the big bucks for Warner Bros. as well as for New Line.

It is no secret that a sequel is already being hatched with Chad and Carey Hayes coming back to pen the script. There are a lot of ideas being tossed around as to what the story would be but nothing is confirmed. Then comes the big news. The studio is looking to make a spin-off movie which will focus on the creepy Annabelle doll from the beginning of THE CONJURING.

At this point the spin-off is to be titled ANNABELLE, and we are assuming that it will focus around the evil doll sometime before Ed and Lorraine Warren met up with her. This begs the question, once the film is made, will it be released into theaters or just go straight to DVD/Bluray/VOD? John Leonnetti is set to be directing it in the spring of 2014.

As far as the sequel to THE CONJURING goes, Warner Bros. would like to get James Wan back on board to direct the second film but he is not confirmed to return at the moment.
