News For TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE Prequel LEATHERFACE - See First Official Poster Within!

Lionsgate and Millennium Films are set to bring us the new TEXAS CHAINSAW film which is simply titled LEATHERFACE. It is going to be a prequel to the original 1974 classic and is indeed in the works. The official plot details are tight lipped but it is said that it will be serving as an origin story that follows Leatherface's teenage years in the 1970's.

As far as who will be directing the movie, Millennium Films had talks with some directors, and finally landed on Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo. Both have been confirmed to direct LEATHERFACE. This duo is responsible for INSIDE, and the upcoming AMONG THE LIVING.

Fantastic Fest revealed the first poster for LEATHERFACE on Twitter , along with the caption of "Guess who is back?"





Seth M. Sherwood has written the script for the prequel to the original 1974 horror classic. Millennium Films is financing the project and producing the LEATHERFACE movie will be Carl Mazzocone, along with Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman as executive producers.
