"The Ultimate Horror Movie" Is Coming In The Form Of A MARTYRS Remake - More Within!

2008's Cannes Film Festival surprise hit MARTYRS really caught people off guard as it illustrated just what the New French Extremity movement was all about. Director Pascal Laugier brought this twisted vision to life making it difficult to watch at times due to the disturbing violence that takes place. Now we have learned that the MARTYRS remake is moving forward full steam ahead.

Looking for a theatrical release, Blumhouse Productions is teaming together with The Safran Company to produce the MARTYRS remake and The Goetz Brothers have filled the slot as the directors.

Fantastic Fest gave the world a peek at the sales art for the MARTYRS remake with the claim that this will be "The Ultimate Horror Movie." It will be interesting to see if the film will live up to that claim.



The original MARTYRS film was about:

"A young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity."
