News On The Upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH Movie!

The news of another FRIDAY THE 13TH movie has been going on since the release of the 2009 reboot. The release date has changed a few times, but the film is very much still underway. In fact we have learned that a new writer has been brought on board.

THR revealed that writer Nick Antosca (HANNIBAL Season 3, BELIEVE) has been given the task of writing a fresh draft for the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH movie for Paramount and Platinum Dunes. The previous draft was penned by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg.

This new take on Crystal Lake will be directed by David Bruckner. THR goes on to say that the new film is "expected to employ the found-footage technique and answer the decades old question of why slasher Jason Voorhees can't be killed."

The upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH film is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 13, 2016.
