Tragedy Strikes On The Set Of RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

The RESIDENT EVIL franchise has done really well throughout the years managing to find outlets within books, animated movies, live action films, video games, and even comic books. The popularity for RESIDENT EVIL continues to grow.

The upcoming RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER was originally announced to be released in September 2014 but Milla Jovovich became pregnant so things halted. Fast forward to the present and the film just called it a wrap earlier in the month.

Some time ago stuntwoman Olivia Jackson was seriously injured on set while riding a motorcycle for an action sequence. We have just learned the news that Jackson will have to lose one of her arms as she writes:

"My left arm is paralyzed and is going to have to be amputated."

It is truly a heartbreaking situation but it is a miracle that Jackson survived as she was previously in a coma with the outcome not looking good. So the news of her surviving is wonderful.

Tragedy struck once again on set as IOL reports that last month a crew member, Ricardo Cornelius was fatally hurt. One of the film's props, a US army issue Hummer fell on top of him. The accident took place when crew members were rotating a platform on which the vehicle sat, with the platform tilting which led to it falling. Cornelius only lived for a few hours afterward and died with his family by his side.

RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER currently has a release date of January 17, 2017.
