More ALIEN: COVENANT Plans Are Revealed!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

2012 saw the release of PROMETHEUS which became a huge hit at the box office and of course it makes perfect sense to have a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN films.

We previously learned that the upcoming film will take place 10 years in the future beyond PROMETHEUS, and will not be so much of a spacesuit movie.

With plans to begin filming in a couple of months, we have now learned further news on the project which was revealed by Scott in an interview after winning his Golden Globe for THE MARTIAN as he stated that he is "going to do pretty hard R. Pretty tough." He went on to say that the new film will feature something "much worse" than the brutal chestbursting scene from ALIEN that has now become iconic.

Here are the current story details:

"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS -- and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

ALIEN: COVENANT will star Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, and Katherine Waterston. The film currently has a release date of October 6, 2017.

We will continue to bring you more on this story as it unfolds.
