KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE To Be Returning?

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Remember just how much fun the 1988 film KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE was? You had popcorn ray guns, cotton candy pods containing dead bodies, and last but not least giant clowns with the want to kill. Rumors of a possible sequel to the flick were around for a while but then it began to seem that we had seen the last of the KILLER KLOWNS.

The sequel that came close to being made was titled RETURN OF THE KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE IN 3D. The project was rolling along nicely but it all fell to pieces. The original movie's director Stephen Chiodo would have returned to direct and would have starred Grant Cramer who would have been reprising his role as Mike Tobacco.

Now in the present day a goal of getting the KILLER KLOWNS back for a return continues. Chiodo recently appeared on The Movie Crypt podcast and spoke about the status of the KILLER KLOWNS saying:

"Right now, we are currently pursuing a long arch series for cable. We wondered, 'Should we do a sequel to the first one or do we do a remake?' We came up with a ‘requel’ – it’s a sequel and a remake. We’ve been developing this for a while. It’s a trilogy in four parts, and it really follows the continuing adventures of new people who are experiencing this phenomenon of a Klown invasion, and once in a while you see some of the old guys pop up and hear their stories – find out what happened over the last 25 years. It’s f*cking great."

Chiodo went on to say that the KILLER KLOWNS "requel" idea can be compared to STAR WARS: EPISODE VII - THE FORCE AWAKENS as being a film that would go over well with the audience.

Chiodo's words are definitely wackiness at it's finest, but that is what we expect from the KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE. Whether they return in the form of televison, a "requel" or not at all, we will continue to follow this story as it unfolds.
