Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

The world has known that a new adaptation of Stephen King's IT has been in the works for while now. When the project began it was first aligned with Warner Bros. but then moved over to New Line. Then came the news that director Cary Fukunaga, who was previously set to direct, officially dropped out of the planned two film project leaving the future of the IT remake in question.

Producers Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg made the decision to bring in MAMA director Andy Muschietti to fill the void.

We recently learned that Nicholas Hamilton joined the fold as the lead bully and today we have learned that Sophia Lillis is the latest addition to the cast.

Lillis will play Beverly, a courageous girl who isn’t afraid to stand up for her fellow members of the Losers’ Club.

Besides Lillis and Hamilton, the rest of the cast is made up of Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Owen Teague, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Clown.

The project is still planned to be two separate films. One point of view being from the kids and the other film being that of the adults. Producer Roy Lee previously stated that an R-rating was to be the goal.

The book was previously adapted by Tommy Lee Wallace as a 1990 two part, three hour event miniseries on ABC, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise.

Original Synopsis for IT:

"It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real… They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name."

Remember to mark September 8th, 2017 on your calendar as this is the official release date for Part 1 of the new adaptation of Stephen King's IT.
