Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

PROMETHEUS became quite the sensation back 2012 at the box office which lined things up nicely for a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN movies.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Red Band trailer arrived for ALIEN: COVENANT and it is must see for any fan of the ALIEN franchise. Head down below to have a look at the previously released Red Band Trailer.

So what does the future hold for the future of the ALIEN: franchise? We have learned from Scott himself that there is more to come in the future saying:

“You've got to assume to a certain extent success and from that you'd better be ready. You don't want a two-year gap. So I'll be ready to go again next year.

... If you really want a franchise, I can keep cranking it for another six. I'm not going to close it down again. No way."

Scott goes on to mention that he also mentioned that the script for the COVENANT sequel has already been written.

The cast for covenant is made up of Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Benjamin Rigby, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup and James Franco.

The film was written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan.

Synopsis:

"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

Michael Fassbender previously had this to say about ALIEN COVENANT:

“It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got the same sort of scope of Prometheus.”

Adding that:

“It’s kind of got more of thriller, imminent disaster feel that Alien had, so it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it, I think it’s gonna be super scary number one and then again with the massive scope of Prometheus… Once it starts and the h.ball starts rolling, it doesn’t let up. It’s really gonna bring chills to the cinema.”

ALIEN: COVENANT will arrive in theaters on May 19th.
