Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
Not long ago we learned that yet another Amityville project is in the works. Titled THE HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND: THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS, the movie looks to follow the real life murder of the DeFeo family.
We have just learned that Daniel Farrnads has been selected to direct THE HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND: THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS. Farrands is known for writing HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS, HAVENHURST, and THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. Farrands has also produced THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT as well as the upcoming AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING, which he at one time was going to direct.
Farrands has also been responsible for the Horror documentaries CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES, NEVER SLEEP AGAIN, HIS NAME WAS JASON, and SCREAM: THE INSIDE STORY.
THE HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND: THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS synopsis:
“On the night of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. took a high-powered rifle and murdered his entire family as they slept. At his trial, DeFeo claimed that “voices” in the house commanded him to kill. Thirteen months later, the Lutz family bought the house and stayed only 28 days before fleeing in terror. Their nightmarish ordeal shocked the world in The Amityville Horror. The Lutzes may have escaped from Amityville with their lives … but the DeFeo’s weren’t so lucky. This is their story.”
As we wait for THE HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND: THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS to be created, remember that the Jennifer Jason Leigh/Bella Thorne starring AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING is still supposed to hit theaters on June 30th.
