Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
As most of you know, THE GRUDGE is a popular Horror film that is also a remake of the Japanese film, JU-ON: THE GRUDGE. There have been plans to reboot THE GRUDGE for a while, with news here and there, but now it looks as though the project still has life left in it.
We have learned that Sony has pegged Nicolas Pesce (THE EYES OF MY MOTHER) to write and direct THE GRUDGE reboot. Jeff Buhler had previously written the script back in 2014, but it looks as though Buhler will add his own flavor to that.
There are no details available on THE GRUDGE reboot as of yet.
Here is the Synopsis of the 2004 version:
“Sarah Michelle Gellar (TV's Buffy The Vampire Slayer ) stars as an American nurse who has come to work in Tokyo. Following a series of horrifying and mysterious deaths, she encounters the vengeful supernatural spirit that possesses its victims, claims their souls, then passes its curse to another person in a spreading chain of horror. Now, she must find a way to break this supernatural spell or become the next victim of an ancient evil that never dies, but forever lives to kill.”
There is no word on a date of production or any kind of anything on THE GRUDGE reboot at this point. We will surely bring you the information as it unfolds.
