Fresh News On IT: CHAPTER TWO!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

The new adaptation of Stephen King's IT has been taking shape for long time now. The project is set to be presented in two separate films which is being produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. MAMA director Andy Muschietti was hired on to helm this new adaptation.

With this film now in theaters, the new Pennywise seems to have gotten the attention of the entire world.

Today we bring you word on the second planned film which is being referred to as IT: CHAPTER TWO. THR reports that Gary Dauberman (ANNABELLE: CREATION, and THE NUN) has finalized an agreement that will see him writing the screenplay for the IT sequel. Dauberman is one of several screenwriters that are credited on IT (2017), after filmmaker Cary Fukunaga had decided to leave the project. Fukunaga along with Chase Palmer had written a screenplay for the film and Dauberman offered his own personal creative views for director Any Mushietti to work with from there.

The possibility is on the table for Mushietti to return as director on the sequel, but as of this writing there is no word on who will be directing. If the second film follows the 1986 source material, we will see The Loser’s Club reunite many years later for a battle with Pennywise.

Producers Barbara Mushietti, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahme-Smith, and David Katzenberg all could possibly be returning to produce the IT sequel.

No casting choices have been made to play the roles of the adult versions of The Loser’s Club. There is also no word if the young cast from the first film might return for possible flashback sequences, which could very well happen.

While no official release date for IT: CHAPTER TWO has been announced, THR believes that 2019 is the target year for release.

We will continue to keep you updated on all things IT.
