Update On The Next PURGE Film!

The popular film series THE PURGE will be returning to theaters in 2020 and the director for the fifth movie has been revealed.

Everardo Gout will be in the director's chair for Blumhouse's next PURGE film. Untitled at this point, the movie has a release dated of July 10th 2020.

The writer of the first four films, James DeMonaco, is once again writing the screenplay.

Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions returns as producer, along with Man in a Tree's DeMonaco and Sebastien Lemercier, as well as Platinum Dunes' Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form.

As of now, no details about the plot have yet to be announced.

DeMonaco previously revealed that this new film could be the final one saying:

“I have it in my head. I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.”
