Now that Michael Myers has created success at the box offiice, another icon is returning to the big screen in Ghost Face. A new SCREAM film is reportedly in development and will have a couple of directors.
The fifth film in the SCREAM franchise is slated to be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. This would be the first SCREAM film to be directed by someone other than the late Wes Craven.
Kevin Williamson, who wrote SCREAM as well as parts 2 and 4, will be executive producing the new film along with Chad Villella. There is no word if Williamson will be involved in the writing.
It's not known whether the fifth SCREAM film will follow the events of the previous movies in any way, but reports say that the new film "will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes."
As of now there is indication of any original cast attatched, but that all could change. The new SCREAM film could begin filming as early as May.
